Brake Servo (Remote)

Ratsport Servo Kit Chosen By Practical ClassicsThere are a few other servo kits available from other manufacturers, some cheaper, some dearer. Ours was the kit chosen by Practical Classics Magazine in Nov 07 to fit to one of their Triumph Vitesse. Here our a couple of quotes from their article:
"Is it worth fitting? Lord yes. While I have no scientific evidence to back up my findings, post-modification the vehicle's stoppers feel more than up to the job required of them"
"The brakes are now comfortably positive, with an increase in controllable retardation and an absence of grabbing or or lock-up"
"All in all, I believe I've successfully brought the brakes up to 21st Century standard with this servo"

You can download the full article, which also includes a handy pictorial fitting guide here:

RatSport Servo Kit Chosen By Retro FordOurs was the kit chosen by Retro Ford magazine December 07 issue to fit to one of their vehicles.
Here are a few quotes from the article:
"The kit we used was Ratsport's remote servo. It cost £139.95 which is a bargain considering the results it gave. Its quite a comprehensive kit too, as the servo is supplied with a brake pipe (complete with unions fitted), vacuum pipe and a one way valve"
"Nick was simply in awe of the difference the kit made, commenting on the much better feel and control"
"Overall the kit wasn't too difficult to fit, so long as you're OK on the spanners you shouldn't struggle"
"Its a top notch kit and a small price to pay for the drastic improvement it makes"

Brake or Clutch ServoThis single circuit remote brake servo kit enables the fitment of a remote brake servo to cars which do not have one, and enables the easy replacement of non-operating obsolete servos.
Boost ratio 1.9:1
Measures approx 224mm length by 189mm diameter.
3/8" UNF inlet and outlet.

The beauty of a remote servo is that fitting requires no interference, modification, or change to the existing brake master cylinder. It is a sealed unit which requires no maintenance at annual service time.

As well as a suitable fitment for all single circuit cars lacking a servo (and kit cars) it is also a direct replacement for remote Girling Powerstop servos fitted to Austin, Bedford, Ford, Hillman, Land Rover, Lotus, MG, Morgan, Morris, Singer, Talbot, Triumph to name a few covered by Girling part numbers 64949023, 64949077, 64949178, 64949354, 64949330, 64949000

Supplied as a kit complete with brackets, hose, connections, instructions etc. A manifold adapter or return valve is not supplied (as many customers already have one if they are replacing a servo) but can be purchased from ourselves.

Please note that if fitting to a modern car with twin circuit brakes (ie two hydraulic brake pipes exiting from the master cylinder), them you will need twin servos.

We have also seen our servo usefully employed on the clutch line on some vehicles (particularly GT40 replicas) to reduce clutch pedal effort.

Detailed fitting instructions can be printed off here, a paper copy is also provided with every servo.
