Expansion & Header Tank

Radiator Expansion & Header Tanks - No Pressure Cap:

Most vehicles benefit from radiator expansion tanks. Many pre 1960s classics did not originally have one fitted at all, and operate a dead-loss system which can waste expensive coolant. Later vehicles usually have a plastic version - plastic does not age well, especially when its spends a lifetime handling hot coolant.

Alloy Radiator Header & Breather Tanks - Pressure Cap:
The tanks shown with a pressure cap are designed for vehicles which do not have a pressure cap on the radiator, or require a pressure cap on the expansion tank. (If you do have a pressure cap on the radiator and want to fit this breather tank then you would need to replace it with a valveless cap or remove the valve from your current cap)
Unlike an expansion tank (no pressure cap - can be mounted anywhere) a breather tank must be mounted at the highest point of the cooling system to operate efficiently.
Prevents air locks and leaves room for expansion

Fitting instructions:
Like most car parts, none of these products come with fitting instructions. Fitment would depend on your individual vehicle's cooling system, and should only be undertaken by competent persons familiar with automotive cooing systems.

Custom Tanks:

We can only supply products exactly as they are detailed and photographed in the product description; unfortunately we are unable to produce an individual tank to a customers' own designs - our tanks are very competitively priced for such high quality items because we produce them on tooling on short production runs, rather than one at a time. Many previous customers have found it significantly more cost effective for them to have their machine shop modify one of our existing designs than to commission a complete tank elsewhere.

Alloy Radiator Header & Breather Tank (Pressure Cap Type) CylindricalThis tank is designed for vehicles which do not have a pressure cap on the radiator, or require a pressure cap on the expansion tank. (If you do have a pressure cap on the radiator and want to fit this breather tank then you would need to replace it with a valveless cap (see radiator caps) or remove the valve from your current cap)
Unlike an expansion tank (which can be mounted anywhere) a breather tank must be mounted at the highest point of the cooling system to operate efficiently.
Prevents air locks and leaves room for expansion.

Tank is configured with twin inlets to suit some motorsport applications. If only one inlet is to be used then either block off the spare one, or use a T-Piece for an ultra-neat installation
